In reality it is very different. Only the riruals that safely place women inside a controlled framework in home is accepted and embraced. Giving her freedom to express views and respecting her real choices not just traditional ways of allowing her to dress up, enjoy in ways that do not threaten patriarchal premises, have money to spend and relax at home while males earn or make career or life choices. Our Bollywood films in majority have also promoted the controlled care as desirable instead of calling out the ugly truth behind this hypocritical care shown by families.
