Were you born with a sword? || Acharya Prashant, with youth (2013)

Speaker: Do you see the difference between these two approaches?Model 1 says, ‘I study so that I can get a particular result’. Model 2 says, ‘I study because I love to study’.

Now in which case are the results going to be better? And even if the results are not better for some reason, which of these is likely to be found in a good mood always?

Listeners(everyone): Model 2.

Speaker: Now what kind of life do you want to lead? Ask yourself. What kind of life do you want to lead?If you do that, it would be a rarity, it would be a tremendous flowering and you would shine, you would shine like nobody else. You would not want to compare, but it would be obvious that there is something special about you. That you are not like all these losers who are just chasing things in life, just chasing. It would be so obvious that there is something special about you.

But it requires guts, it requires youth, it requires energy, it requires a person who loves himself. Those who are dropping dead by the age of 18 and 20, they can’t do this. Those who do not have the energy to even raise their heads, they can’t do this. Do you get the message? Right! They can’t do this. Freedom is not for those who are chicken-hearted. Joy and love are not for those who are always trembling with fear .

Looking at life wide eyed; Oh my god, what a horror show! (Everyone smiling) Life is not a horror show. Life is not a group of baddies that come together to assault you. But that is the image that has been implanted in your mindminds by the society that the world is a bad place and life is a challenge. You must fight it. What?

Were you born with an armour and a sword?

‘The world is a bad place, and you must be a goon, if not in your appearance then at least here (pointing to the mind) you must be a goon; always fighting, striving, achieving, conquering, competing”. That’s the model there in your mind.Right?

Is there any place for love in this model? Any place? Even your love is a fight.

(Sarcastically) Success: “Life is a battle at every step”. This is written large on your faces. What tremendous joy is there on your faces.

(Everyone is giggling) .

Speaker: Am I talking to young people? Where is the energy? Where is the youthfulness? Youth is like a flower, beautiful, open, and receptive. Where is that energy?
