Not to be born is a remedy from the perils of life, and more importantly, from the scare of death. Do not allow your mind to take very seriously all that which comes as a result of your physical appearance. What does your physical birth give you? It gives you a gender, a body, a date of birth, a set of parents, often a predetermined religion. Don’t take these seriously.
The more seriously you celebrate your birthday, the more seriously you are announcing to yourself that you are the born one. Avoid celebrating birthdays. And even if you want to celebrate birthdays, you must know who was born that day. You were not born. Somebody was born—happy birthday to him! The cake goes to the one who was born, not me.
