Description

Acharya Prashant explains that when inner energy becomes restless, there are only two options: to descend into madness or to channel that energy into the highest expression through devotional surrender to godliness. He emphasizes that intermediate channels are insufficient and that one must decide if they have the patience and guts for the highest path. If one is unwilling to exert the tremendous effort required for the highest channel, they will inevitably fall into lower, easy vents of restlessness. He warns that even a small corner of one's being or a bit of private time reserved for oneself will be occupied by negative tendencies and suffering. He asserts that the concept of personal and private time is a delusion, as even professional life is driven by personal desires, and it is in this personal space that one is destroyed. Acharya Prashant further discusses the source of strength, identifying it as a fundamental resistance to suffering. He uses the analogy of being chased by a mad dog to illustrate how divine strength arises when one recognizes a threat. He points out that while people react strongly to gross physical threats like drowning or physical assault because they are easily detected, they fail to resist the subtle violations of the mind and inner peace. He explains that because we are gross-minded, we only value gross events. He concludes by advising that one must learn to love the subtle so that its violation becomes intolerable, prompting the same level of resistance and strength one would show in a life-threatening physical situation.
