Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the spiritual journey is often hindered by external motivations rather than a genuine internal desire for transformation. He observes that many people attend spiritual gatherings not out of a sincere urge to change, but to prove something to themselves or others, or to escape domestic environments. He emphasizes that no medicine or treatment can be effective unless there is a deep-seated aspiration within the individual to be cured. Just as a corpse cannot be treated, a person whose life force does not cry out for change cannot begin the process of healing. The length of time spent in a spiritual environment is irrelevant if the fundamental intent to improve is absent. He further clarifies the concept of being 'chosen,' stating that everyone is called, but only those who acknowledge and recognize the call are chosen. He refutes the idea that one's state of unconsciousness or suffering is the will of the Divine or the result of past actions. Instead, he asserts that unconsciousness is a personal choice maintained through one's environment, associations, and habits. Acharya Prashant insists that individuals must stop blaming God or karma for their condition. Liberation is possible at this very moment if one chooses to wake up, as the cycle of suffering ends the moment one decides to stop choosing unconsciousness.
