Acharya Prashant explains that living in the present can stem from two opposite states: a lack of foresight due to low consciousness or a state of high consciousness where foresight is no longer needed. He illustrates this with the example of a driver who abandons his responsibilities for immediate gratification, unaware of his own degradation. In contrast, a saint does not worry about the future because they have already attained fulfillment in the present. Most people fall into a category of low consciousness, unaware of their inner thirst or suffering, seeking only material comforts and avoiding spiritual truth. They are like people sleeping in a burning house, oblivious to their peril until the very end.
