Acharya Prashant explains that the raw fabric or cloth mentioned in the verses of Guru Sahib refers to the human mind. The mind is initially conditioned, soiled, and carrying various impure worldly impressions. To be dyed in the color of truth, the mind must first be bleached white through the fear of God. This fear is not a fear of God himself, but the fear of remaining unfulfilled and never attaining peace. This realization makes one question and negate current beliefs and identifications that do not serve one's welfare.
