Description

Acharya Prashant explains that Truth does not require external proof; the existence of a Buddha and a right life are their own evidence. He points out the irony of people fearing that a Buddha might cheat them, while they are being cheated daily by worldly life in their homes, offices, and markets. He describes this state as deliberate ignorance, where individuals consciously ignore their daily suffering, grief, and stress. Instead of seeking immediate freedom from their current miseries, people often ask for abstract concepts like bliss or enlightenment, failing to recognize the metaphorical snake of suffering currently binding them. He argues that the demand for proof of awakening while pretending to be asleep is a form of self-deception. He further explains that worldly happiness is fragile and often masks deep-seated pain and insecurity. Using the example of family life, he suggests that much of what is called happiness is actually based on suspicion and fear. He clarifies that a Buddha, having already renounced material wealth, has nothing to take from a person except their bonds, diseases, and fears. Referring to Kabir Saheb's concept of the cheat or Maya, he explains that it is the worldly illusion that robs people, whereas a Buddha comes to take away their sorrows and provide true bliss.
