Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the relationship between the self and the body, explaining that true affiliation with the truth involves neither affirming nor negating the body. He suggests that just as one does not feel the need to declare they are not a pillar, one should not need to loudly declare they are not the body. The body is a self-sufficient machine that should be used for one's purpose without identification or interference. He emphasizes that the most healthy relationship is to let the body be while focusing on what one must truly do. Regarding the nature of existence, Acharya Prashant asserts that consciousness and nature are one and the same. He explains that consciousness, as commonly understood, is embedded in the brain, which is a part of nature. He argues that the universe has no independent or objective existence outside of consciousness; if the brain were to undergo a mutation, the entire perception of the universe, including the sun, would change. Without consciousness, the universe as we know it does not exist. Finally, he discusses the amoral nature of the material world, where the survival of one species often depends on the death of another. He clarifies that nature operates like a giant machine without inherent morality, compassion, or cruelty. While animals like lions act without sin because they have no spiritual ambition or choice, humans are unique because they seek liberation. He concludes that while humans can choose to live by the laws of the jungle, they will only find peace by moving beyond these natural instincts and seeking liberation from the material domain.
