Description

Acharya Prashant explains that contemporary socio-political issues like global warming are anthropogenic, meaning they are created by the human mind. He argues that it is futile to discuss the problem without addressing the problem creator. The human mind is born with a design flaw, enveloped in ignorance and malicious tendencies such as accumulation, consumption, violence, and fear. When these deep-seated tendencies combine with modern material and destructive power, the result is ecological catastrophe, biodiversity loss, and climate change. He emphasizes that these issues cannot be solved in isolation because they all stem from the same diseased center, which he identifies as the root problem or the primordial tendency of the ego. He asserts that the Bhagavad Gita and Vedanta are specifically designed to address and purify this root cause, referred to as the ancient animal within man. While humans appear civilized outwardly, they still harbor primitive desires that become more destructive when paired with modern technology. Acharya Prashant criticizes the tendency to focus on peripheral symptoms rather than the root, comparing it to treating cancer superficially while allowing it to metastasize. He describes this state of delusion as Maya, where individuals prefer to remain in suffering by only addressing minor issues. He concludes that scriptures like the Gita act as circuit breakers to disrupt this cycle of bondage, and that true solutions require wisdom education to uplift the general population's consciousness.
