Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the term 'Aham' or 'I' can be used in different dimensions. While anyone can claim to be a father, a body, or a learned person using 'Aham', the spiritual journey often begins with 'Na Aham'—the negation of these false identities. He clarifies that when the Upanishads state 'Aham Brahmasmi', the 'Aham' referred to is dimensionally different from the egoistic 'I'. The ego is essentially an incompletion that mistakenly seeks fulfillment by attaching itself to its own projections and objects. Wisdom for the ego lies in recognizing the fruitlessness and stupidity of these self-defeating attempts to find peace through external attachments. When the ego's movement ceases, it submerges and dissolves into its source, which is not a physical point in time but a state beyond the ego. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the Truth remains after the false 'I' disappears, and this realization is beyond the comprehension of an idea-driven mind. He cautions that one should not utter such profound declarations of Truth as long as they still identify as a specific 'somebody'.
