Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the accumulation of past actions and impressions, which he refers to as the contents of the mind, originates from both current life experiences and inherited physical tendencies. He uses the analogy of water in a clay pot, where the water takes on the scent of the vessel, to illustrate how the body carries ancient scents and conditioning. Even if two individuals undergo the same experience, their reactions differ because their 'vessels' or biological and psychological backgrounds are distinct. True righteousness, or Dharma, emerges only when these accumulated impressions and past residues are dissolved, leaving the mind clean and healthy. He emphasizes that one cannot be truly religious or righteous while carrying the wounds, memories, or insults of the past. Even if a person achieves great worldly success driven by the energy of past hurts, they remain spiritually impoverished, much like a beggar who collects wealth by displaying his wounds. Acharya Prashant further observes that innocence is not an inherent quality of children, as they are born with genetic and prenatal conditioning. Instead, true innocence is found in realized beings like Kabir Saheb or Bulleh Shah, who have consciously understood and cleared their mental tendencies and flaws.
