Acharya Prashant addresses a questioner who feels a surge of energy in his presence but experiences a decline when away. He explains that the feeling of distance is a mental construct created by the individual. If one views the teacher merely as a physical body, then physical distance and eventual separation are inevitable. However, the energy and peace experienced are not material or physical; therefore, they cannot be dependent on a physical body. The teacher acts as a medium or a signpost to guide one toward the truth, but the medium should not be mistaken for the destination. He emphasizes that the source of this energy is as available to the seeker as it is to the teacher. The utility of a medium is to bridge a perceived gap, but once the connection is established, the medium should no longer be necessary. Acharya Prashant advises the seeker to stop believing in the idea of being 'distant' from the source, as this very thought causes the loss of energy. Just as one cannot be away from the sky or the earth, one cannot be away from the truth. If the sense of distance persists, he suggests simply closing one's eyes to become indifferent to the external world, which serves as a sufficient reminder of the truth.
