Description

Acharya Prashant interprets Guru Nanak's teachings, explaining that the Divine does not discriminate; rather, our experience of joy or suffering depends on our level of consciousness. He asserts that as children of Ultimate Freedom, humans possess the liberty even to choose ignorance and bondage. This inherent freedom is evidenced by the ability to perceive one's own limitations. He discusses the law of karma, likening life to a stream where an individual must eventually consume what they have contributed. Liberation from this cycle occurs only when the ego, or the 'doer,' ceases to exist. He further explains that everyone, whether worldly or spiritual, is essentially seeking the same Truth. While a worldly person pursues the Divine through material objects and Maya, a seeker focuses on the formless essence. Referring to Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, he notes that the Divine manifests in whatever form a devotee chooses to worship. Therefore, true prayer is not a plea for grace, as grace is already ever-present, but rather the act of becoming conscious and making right choices in the present moment. He emphasizes that the Ultimate is indifferent to human praise or neglect, remaining eternally blissful. Finally, Acharya Prashant critiques the tendency to rely on past identities or excuses. He argues that a person is defined by their current actions and state of being, not their history. He challenges the common linguistic separation between the self and its flaws, suggesting that one should acknowledge their current state—such as being a liar—rather than saying they simply told a lie. True devotion and liberation require using one's inherent freedom to choose awareness over unconsciousness.
