Acharya Prashant addresses the question of how to live the right life and remove the "garbage" from the mind. He explains that this "garbage" is an old habit, and one cannot convince oneself to consider it garbage so quickly. The way forward is to dedicate more and more time in one's daily routine to things that are not considered garbage. He advises differentiating between higher and lower-level activities in one's life. One should first reduce the time, attention, and energy given to the lower-level things and increase the time spent on higher things. By increasing the time spent on higher activities, one will discover what is even higher. As one moves upwards, the time for lower-level tasks will naturally decrease, and this process is called liberation (mukti). He states that we are people who must achieve liberation by deceiving ourselves. If we listen to our own ingrained tendencies, we will remain slaves, but if we fight them directly, we will only get hurt. Therefore, one must trick oneself. Instead of forcefully trying to renounce things that are perceived as pleasurable, one should tell oneself, "First, let me finish these more important, higher tasks, and then I will get to the pleasurable things." He suggests deploying these higher tasks in such a way that they consume most of one's time, leaving no leisure for the lower tasks. He warns against trying to change everything at once, as this will lead to failure and blame. Regarding the feeling of having wasted 30 years, Acharya Prashant says it is not a matter of regret but of relief and happiness. It is a good thing to have realized the truth at 30, as many people realize it much later or never at all, rotting their whole lives without knowing why. The past is a fact and cannot be changed. Now that the situation is known, one can move forward. He concludes by using an analogy: if you are in a dark room believing it is beautiful, and a light reveals it is full of garbage, the light is a good thing because it saves you from danger. Similarly, a dream breaking is not bad because one awakens to reality.
