Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the mind is the field of the ego, and its quality depends entirely on how one defines the 'I'. If the 'I' is identified with worldly roles, such as being an employee or a spouse, the mind becomes a space of bondage and fear. However, if the 'I' is rightly understood and surrendered to the infinite, the mind becomes a beautiful expanse, often referred to as paradise. He emphasizes that our dislike for death, bondage, and lies stems from our true nature, which is immortal, free, and truthful. We feel uneasy with suffering because it is not our natural state. Regarding the path to liberation, Acharya Prashant clarifies that the question 'Who am I?' is a mental tool used to observe the facts of one's life. It is not about finding a ready-made spiritual answer like 'I am Brahman,' but about honestly acknowledging one's current state, such as being greedy, angry, or insecure. By looking directly at the 'wound' of suffering rather than the external causes, the sufferer and the suffering can dissolve. He concludes that the persistent urge to be free, even when one feels hopeless, is a mystical hope from the heart that serves as both the proof and the instrument of liberation.
