Description

Acharya Prashant explains that logic is a valuable capacity of the mind, but its utility is strictly confined within the mental realm. The mind consists of sensory perceptions, external knowledge, and stored memories, and within this sphere, logic is essential for approaching facts and clearing mental obstructions. However, logic cannot grasp the Truth because the Truth is the source from which the mind emerges and into which it dissolves. While logic is the foundation of medical science, philosophy, and general science, it has no place in matters of love or liberation. One cannot provide a logical reason for the necessity of love or the desire for freedom, as these transcend the material world. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that logic is only truly beneficial if it eventually leads to silence. If logic continues indefinitely, it becomes a tool for the ego to assert superiority over others rather than a means to reach the Truth. The highest purpose of logic is to move toward the Truth, bow before it, and ultimately dissolve into silence.
