Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the question of whether a liberated person should return to the world for its improvement or seek final liberation. He explains that for a truly liberated being, there is no confusion, fear, or pressure regarding the choice to return or not. The hallmark of a liberated person is that they remain free even amidst problems. One must first reach that state of liberation where choices are made without worldly bondage. He emphasizes that the path chosen after liberation is inherently right for that individual, as they are no longer susceptible to being trapped by worldly issues. Regarding the symbolism of deities, Acharya Prashant clarifies that in spirituality, wealth and power have different meanings. He interprets 'Vishnu' as a symbol of spiritual wealth, such as the wealth of liberation, rather than material currency. Similarly, 'Shiva' represents spiritual strength or self-reliance (Atma-bal), which involves letting go of dependence on worldly powers. He argues that material wealth has very limited utility on the path to liberation; it can provide basic necessities like food and shelter, but it cannot buy spiritual realization or 'Bodha'. Beyond a certain point, material wealth becomes irrelevant or even a burden. He further discusses the nature of knowledge, distinguishing between meaningful spiritual insight and the accumulation of irrelevant information. He critiques the modern obsession with data and technology, such as Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality, which provide vast amounts of information that often serve no higher purpose. He asserts that most people collect 'useless knowledge' that has no connection to their liberation. The focus should be on whether the resources or information one possesses are actually aiding their spiritual progress or merely acting as a distraction.
