Acharya Prashant explains that meditation and the state of being a witness are essentially the same. He asserts that everyone is constantly a meditator because we always have an object of focus in our lives. The quality of one's life depends on the object of their meditation, categorizing meditators into three types: those who focus on inferior worldly subjects, those who focus on superior subjects like the words of a Guru or scriptures, and the highest category—those who focus on the 'objectless' or the 'undifferentiated'. This third state is true witness-consciousness, where one views everything with equanimity and without personal preference or prejudice. In this state, nothing holds special value, and one becomes a mere observer of the world's play without the need for participation or gain.
