Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the difference between fear and curiosity when facing the unknown depends on one's fundamental outlook on life. He uses the analogy of two houses: one belonging to a well-wisher where a person explores with curiosity, and another where one is held captive, leading to constant fear of the unknown. Most people are conditioned from childhood to view the world as a dangerous place, which breeds deep-seated suspicion and fear. This suspicion makes every new situation appear as a potential threat, leading to a life of confinement and misery. In contrast, living with faith means recognizing that life is not a punishment or a torture, but a gift of grace. Acharya Prashant points out that essential life functions, such as breathing, heartbeat, and digestion, as well as environmental factors like the composition of the air and global temperatures, are maintained without our effort. A person with faith understands that if so much is provided without asking, the world cannot be inherently hostile. While skepticism has its place in external scientific inquiry, applying it internally to one's existence leads to paralysis and suffering. He encourages moving away from constant doubt and learning to live with faith and grace to overcome fear.
