Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the task of fighting evil today is far more difficult than it was for the heroes of the past. He states that historical heroes had clearly identifiable targets, whereas today, one has to fight mankind itself, which is a helpless situation. Today's teacher, hero, or prophet must fight everybody, including those outside their social circle, their supporters, and even themselves due to the influence of the world. This is a stark contrast to the past, where the enemy was clearly defined and external. To illustrate this, the speaker uses the example of Shri Krishna and Kansa. Shri Krishna was never affected by Kansa because there was only one Kansa in a distant city, while Shri Krishna grew up in an innocent village. Today, however, the "cult of Kansa" is everywhere. A modern-day Shri Krishna would find that his own family and everyone around him are like Kansa, and even the river Yamuna would be polluted with this pervasive evil. Similarly, the speaker imagines a modern Ramayana where Hanuman turns on Shri Ram, Lakshman conspires with Meghnath, and Radha is an agent of Kansa. The ancient Shri Krishna had it "too easy" compared to the challenges of today. The speaker argues that the enemy is no longer outside; it is within our homes, among our friends, lovers, students, and teachers. Ultimately, when one looks in the mirror, one finds the worst enemy. The Sita of the Ramayana is now extinct; a modern Sita would chase Ravana herself and compel him to marry her. He describes the current era as the darkest hour in human history, where man's desire for power and control over existence is leading to the end of history itself. The evil lurks everywhere, within and around us, with no clear separations, making it incredibly difficult to fight.
