Acharya Prashant explains that illness is not something to be seen as negative, but rather as a message from the life force (prana). He begins by asking if a dead body can fall ill, establishing that illness originates from life itself. This illness is a message that something is wrong and a call to come closer to one's true nature. One should not condemn or dismiss illness as an illusion (bhram) or falsehood (mithya), but rather get close to it and understand that it wants to lead you somewhere. This principle extends beyond physical illness to all forms of suffering and negative emotions like anger, jealousy, and even heinous acts. These are all distorted expressions of a deep-seated longing for the Supreme, for love, and for peace. As long as one believes in an alternate power running the world, one will remain scared. However, once it is deeply understood that only one power is at play, there is nothing to fear. Everything that happens, even if it is not understood, is a message from a friend (the Supreme) and is for one's ultimate well-being. Therefore, one should have faith and try to understand these messages rather than dismissing them as evil. The speaker emphasizes the concept of non-duality (Advaita), stating that there is only one reality. The idea of an opposing force like 'Maya' (illusion) or 'Satan' is a misunderstanding. What appears as 'Satan' is actually God's messenger, bringing a love letter. The form may seem frightening, but the content is love. When one doesn't see clearly, it appears as Maya; when one sees properly, it is Brahman. There is no Satan; there is only the message of love that appears like Satan. Ultimately, everything that happens, including bondage, is for one's well-being and liberation. The pain of separation (virah) is auspicious because it is a call from the Truth. All human endeavors, from building families to forming societies, are a search for something bigger than the self, a search for the Supreme. Therefore, one should accept every experience with the faith that it is a love letter from the Supreme, guiding one back to their true nature. Even the basest thought is a call from the Supreme.
