Acharya Prashant explains that there is no fundamental difference between a Guru and a Satguru, just as there is no difference between Truth and Ultimate Truth, or Soul and Supreme Soul. He clarifies that these terms are often used interchangeably based on a seeker's level of gratitude and devotion. When a person feels immense love and respect for their teacher, they may use more decorative or respectful titles like Satguru, Gurudev, or add honorifics like 'Shri' or 'Ji'. These titles do not change the nature of the Guru but rather reflect the state of the seeker's mind and their deep affection. The speaker emphasizes that while the world is defined by divisions, categories, and hierarchies—such as age, gender, income, or social status—the realm of the divine or the Truth is one and undivided. In the world of the mundane, everything is partitioned, but in the presence of the Supreme, there are no classes or segments. Since a true Guru is one with the Truth or the Supreme, there can be no hierarchy or multiple levels among them. Referring to Kabir Saheb, Acharya Prashant asks how there can be two masters when the Ultimate Reality is one. Therefore, the distinction between Guru and Satguru is a product of human expression and emotion rather than a spiritual reality.
