Description

Acharya Prashant explains that sensitivity is the state of being conscious and aware of disturbances in one's inner peace. He uses the analogy of a silent lake and a meditator to illustrate that sensitivity means recognizing when something attempts to disrupt your tranquility. Just as the body's immune system activates to protect the physical self from harm, true sensitivity is an internal defense mechanism that protects one's freedom, truth, and peace. It is not about being emotional or crying over trivial matters; rather, it is about being indifferent to the useless while remaining deeply committed to what is essential and true. A sensitive person may appear harsh or indifferent to others because they refuse to be moved by superficial emotions or petty desires, focusing instead on the core values of life. He further clarifies that sensitivity involves valuing the freedom and well-being of others as much as one's own. Using the example of a tragic news event, he points out that feeling anger only because lives were lost is a limited perspective. True sensitivity would involve feeling anger toward the widespread ignorance, falsehood, and hypocrisy that lead to such tragedies. He encourages expanding one's concern from mere physical existence to the preservation of truth and spiritual integrity. Regarding the law of karma, Acharya Prashant refutes the idea of a delayed punishment. He asserts that the act of committing a wrong is its own punishment, manifesting immediately as fear, guilt, or agitation. Being in a state of fear or falsehood is the actual penalty, and the only way to be free from it is to align oneself with the truth in the present moment.
