Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the feeling of hesitation or fear when facing him depends entirely on how one perceives him. If he is viewed as just another person or an authority figure, then the ego is involved, seeking to maintain a superior image. However, if he is seen as a symbol, a reminder, or an 'alarm clock' for the Truth, then the reaction reveals one's internal state. Just as an alarm clock startles someone who has forgotten the time, his presence may cause discomfort to those who have forgotten the Timeless. He emphasizes that he is merely a messenger or a 'postman' bringing news of the Beloved. He defines 'Surati' as constant remembrance of the Truth. If one is truly in a state of remembrance, they would find joy in his company because he speaks of the very Truth they hold dear. If his words or presence cause irritation or fear, it indicates a lack of 'Surati' and a fear of the Truth itself. He notes that people do not fear him personally, but rather the Truth that flows through his words. If he were to discuss mundane worldly matters like money or family, people would not run away; they flee because he reminds them of what they are trying to avoid. Ultimately, the love for the messenger is a reflection of the love for the one who sent the message.
