Description

Acharya Prashant explains that while the world and our sensory experiences are 'Anjan' (material or illusory), one must not simply flee from them. He argues that 'Niranjan' (the pure or formless truth) cannot be reached by abandoning the world, but by changing one's relationship with it. He emphasizes that everything we perceive—our desires, beliefs, and even religious rituals—is part of 'Anjan'. The challenge for a seeker is not to renounce these things physically, but to stop using them for self-gratification and instead use them as tools to understand the truth. He uses the analogy of a doctor who enters a hospital not to become sick, but to treat the illness; similarly, a seeker lives in the world to understand its nature without getting entangled in it. He critiques traditional renunciation that stems from fear or suppression, labeling it as hypocrisy. True spirituality, according to Acharya Prashant, is about being a 'player' in the game of life rather than a 'deserter'. He explains that 'Anjan' should be treated as a means (Sadhana) rather than an end (Sadhya). By observing the 'truth of things' (facts) in the material world, one eventually becomes available to the 'Absolute Truth'. He encourages living with an internal discipline and love that allows one to see the reality of every situation, whether it is watching a film, using technology, or engaging in daily chores. Ultimately, 'leaving Anjan' means dropping the desire to consume it for the ego, while continuing to use it as a bridge to the divine.
