Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the difficulty of the spiritual path depends entirely on an individual's willingness to let go of their ego and social pretenses. Using the metaphor of a veil, he illustrates that while it is impossible to read or see clearly with closed eyes, everything becomes simple once the eyes are opened. He emphasizes that the ego represents the freedom to either remain ignorant or to dissolve oneself. One has the absolute freedom to live in darkness or step into divine light; the choice lies with the individual. He asserts that as children of the Supreme, humans possess the same ultimate freedom, including the freedom to remain in bondage if they so choose. He further discusses the law of action, noting that while existence provides total freedom to act—even to the point of causing self-harm or polluting nature—one cannot escape the consequences of those actions. He contrasts how different people perceive the same environment, such as the Himalayas or the Ganges; where one person sees only lust or a place for nuisance, a sage finds divinity and silence. He highlights that the soul is naturally a dancer and the mind is its stage, as mentioned in the Shiva Sutras. To truly live is to live a life of 'Leela' or divine play, which requires shedding all veils of ego and hypocrisy. Ultimately, he concludes that bondage exists only in one's thoughts, and liberation is attained the moment one sincerely desires truth and freedom.
