Description

Acharya Prashant addresses a question regarding how to maintain the energy and peace felt in his presence even when physically distant. He explains that the feeling of distance is a mental construct created by the individual. If one views the teacher only as a physical body, then separation and the resulting loss of energy are inevitable because the body is material and temporary. However, he clarifies that the energy and peace experienced are not physical or material in nature; therefore, they cannot be dependent on a physical body. The teacher acts merely as a medium or a pointer to help the seeker reach a certain state of being. He emphasizes that a medium should not be mistaken for the destination. While a medium is useful initially, its ultimate purpose is to become unnecessary once the seeker is established in their own stillness. Acharya Prashant advises that the loss of energy occurs primarily because of the thought that one has moved away. He suggests shifting this perspective to realize that while one can move away from physical objects, one can never be distant from the truth. To regain that sense of presence, he suggests that simply closing one's eyes and becoming indifferent to the external world is sufficient, as this act itself signifies a return to remembrance and inner stability.
