Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the primary role of a Guru is to lead a seeker toward liberation, walking alongside them until the destination is reached, where the Guru, the destination, and the seeker eventually merge into one. However, if the journey remains incomplete due to a lack of eligibility in the disciple, shortcomings in the Guru, or the physical demise of the Guru, the seeker experiences deep suffering. This happens because the seeker's old relationship with the world has dissolved, and the new world they were building centered around the Guru has not yet fully manifested. In such a situation, the seeker has two choices: return to their previous state of ignorance or recognize that the Guru is not merely a physical body but the inspiration that leads one from darkness to light. This inspiration must then be sought either within oneself or through another guide to complete the remaining journey. Acharya Prashant warns that time is limited and both the seeker and the Guru's physical form are mortal; therefore, one must engage in spiritual association with such depth that the journey is completed quickly before death intervenes.
