Description

Acharya Prashant explains that memories are residues that cause happiness or sadness, often circulating in the mind as thoughts because of resistance. He identifies two types of memories: capacitor memories and current memories. If a thought persists, it indicates that something is being resisted—either an action is being forced or a necessary action is being avoided. He advises against resisting solutions and encourages accepting the inevitable side effects of living by the heart, such as social disapproval or financial loss, as the price is worth the authenticity. Stress is defined as the tension resulting from the conflict between the mind and the heart, or between different aspects of the mind. Regarding professional choices, Acharya Prashant asserts that one's career is not chosen in isolation but is a reflection of how one makes all life decisions. The entity making small choices, like selecting a T-shirt or food, is the same entity that chooses a profession or a partner. If small decisions are misplaced, big decisions cannot be right. Therefore, one must be mindful and correct in every small decision to ensure that major life choices fall into place. He emphasizes that everything is a 'small thing' and nothing should be ignored, as the person acting in a minor situation is the same person acting in a significant one. He observes that the world is currently brimming with sickness, characterized by ambition, greed, fear, and competitiveness found in institutions, media, and markets. While this environment is pervasive, he urges the individual to choose health over participating in this collective disease. Recognizing this sickness is the beginning of recovery, which eventually allows one to help others. Finally, he defines God not as a person or entity, but as the immense, infinite totality of existence that is a factual reality rather than a matter of mere belief.
