Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the Kaurava side in the Mahabharata possessed immense diversity, art, and knowledge, yet they lacked a connection with Shri Krishna. He emphasizes that Shri Krishna is present today through the Gita, which requires deep inquiry and the piercing of every word to reach the essence. True association with Shri Krishna means engaging with this understanding rather than ritualism. Addressing Kabir Saheb's couplet about wealth not decreasing through righteousness, he clarifies that 'wealth' (Dhan) is anything that leads an individual toward liberation (Mukti). He warns against dividing wealth into material and spiritual categories, stating that knowledge, money, status, and company are all wealth if they serve the purpose of one's welfare and freedom. The definition of wealth depends entirely on one's current state and what is needed to break one's specific bonds. He critiques the common interpretation of Kabir Saheb's words used by those seeking donations, who lure people with the promise of material multiplication. Acharya Prashant asserts that money can be a spiritual blessing if it cuts through dependencies, or a burden if it becomes an attachment. For a Buddha or Mahavira, a palace was a burden to be renounced, but for a destitute person, learning to earn is the path to spiritual progress. He argues that poverty and helplessness are bonds that must be overcome through labor (Shram). Spirituality is not synonymous with poverty; rather, it is about using or renouncing resources as required for liberation. He concludes that true wealth is that which aids in spiritual practice (Sadhana), and both earning wealth and performing Sadhana require the same quality of industriousness. One should accumulate the 'true wealth' that assists in the ultimate goal of liberation.
