Acharya Prashant explains that the mind is a very pliant and gullible thing, made up of influences. It will become what it sees and what it is surrounded with. He prompts one to question their environment, particularly the workplace. Is the workplace working on greed and targets, or is it based on love? Are relationships with colleagues based on self-interest, which can take very decorated names? One must genuinely look at these things to see what is becoming of one's mind by being in that environment. To truly understand the impact of an environment, one must come out of it. He gives an example: people from Delhi only realize how many stars are in the sky when they come to a place like Dharamshala and see what they were missing. Similarly, only when you come out of a workplace do you realize the cloud, smoke, and pollution that was there. While in it, you just keep sucking in the toxins without knowing it's contributing to a poisonous formation within. The body becomes acclimatized and habituated to being tortured, just as the lungs in a polluted city don't complain. When asked how one can come out of such a situation, Acharya Prashant states that it requires more moments of clarity. He explains that peace is everyone's destiny, but it is a timeless destiny. It can take centuries to materialize or it can happen in a second. The drama of not being peaceful can continue endlessly only because you are already peaceful. Therefore, it does not help to say that everyone is destined to ultimately reach peace, so you will too. You will never reach it with that attitude. Those who say the 'right time' will come are just deceiving themselves. The right time is right now; that's the only right time.
