Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the prevalence of individuals and organizations claiming to offer a 'new truth'. He advises that to avoid being misled, one should turn to the timeless wisdom that is already available. He refers to the ancient Rishis like Bharadwaj, Gautam, Kashyap, and Yajnavalkya, along with the Vedas and Vedanta, stating they have already revealed a great deal. If their language seems uninteresting, the teachings of Buddha and Mahavir are also accessible. Furthermore, for those who prefer to listen with more intimacy and sweetness, the words of saints like Farid, Nanak, Kabir, Meera, and Bulleh Shah are available. He emphasizes that these diverse teachings do not contradict one another, and any perceived differences are merely superficial. The core of his message is that Truth is not a new invention or a product of the 20th or 21st century. No new campaign or organization can invent its own truth. He provides a clear test to identify falsehood: any mission, campaign, or organization is false if its teachings contradict or oppose the words of the Rishis, Mahatmas, and Saints. Truth is described as beginningless, endless, and timeless. Therefore, the notion of bringing a 'new truth' for the modern era is baseless. Acharya Prashant cautions against anyone claiming to bring a new truth. While the essential matter of Truth cannot be new, its exposition can be contemporary. The language and context can be modern, but the core message remains unchanged. He illustrates this with a story about Buddha, who, when told his teachings were old, replied that if he were saying something new, he wouldn't be a Buddha. True saints, he explains, possess the humility to acknowledge that their wisdom is part of an infinite, continuous stream passed down by their Gurus. The desire for and attraction to what is 'new' is often just an indicator of ego and falsehood.
