Acharya Prashant explains that carelessness or being carefree is a very personal state that belongs only to the soul. The mind, by its very nature, is a bundle of worries and anxieties. True carefreeness arises only when the mind rests in the soul and ceases to function as a separate, anxious entity. Most people live in a state of constant worry, seeking validation and advice from others for even the smallest decisions, such as choosing a school, a car, or even personal grooming. This lack of independence stems from a deep-seated greed and a desire for things from others. As long as one is a beggar for external things, one can never be carefree.
