Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the ultimate aim of life is peace, which is achieved through the deepening of consciousness. He asserts that consciousness is the only thing worth respecting and worshipping because it is the liberator of the mind. He argues that one should not kill or exploit conscious beings, such as a Buddha, a Brahmin, or any human being, because their consciousness is their most valuable attribute. This respect for consciousness should extend to animals and plants as well, as they also possess consciousness, albeit at different levels. He emphasizes that choosing to avoid violence against conscious beings is not a matter of mere ethics or morality, but a matter of self-interest for one's own liberation. Regarding the consumption of milk and eggs, Acharya Prashant highlights that these products involve the exploitation of conscious beings. He points out the biological fact that the milk of a species is specifically designed for the offspring of that species and is only needed for a short duration. He critiques the food industry for promoting lifelong milk consumption, noting that no other mammal continues to drink milk into adulthood. He dismisses the argument that milk is necessary for strength or protein, pointing to successful vegan athletes and large mammals like elephants that do not consume milk. He also addresses the tendency to copy peripheral habits of figures like Shri Krishna, such as drinking milk, while failing to emulate their core spiritual essence or wisdom.
