Acharya Prashant responds to a question about dealing with multiple sources of pain by stating that one should stop giving them money, and they will stop giving pain. He explains that in this world, no one gives pain for free; we ourselves buy it. We are not artisans who get hit from only one side; we get hit from both sides. First, we work hard to accumulate things like money, and then we use that very money to purchase pain and suffering. He asserts that all the problems in one's life are being fed and nourished by the individual. If you stop feeding them, they will stop playing with you. There can be no problem in your life that exists without you providing it with nourishment and support. Look closely, and you will see that without your support, the problem cannot survive. Acharya Prashant further explains this with a metaphor. When a disease has settled deep inside you, any food you eat is actually fed to the disease. Any happiness you arrange for yourself is also given to the disease. When you yourself have become the disease, whatever you do for yourself, you are doing for the disease. The only way then is to stop doing anything for yourself. Because whatever you do for yourself is, in fact, for the disease. When you do nothing for yourself, you become useless to the disease, and it will leave. The illusion is thinking the disease is separate; the reality is that you are the disease. Therefore, if you do anything for yourself, you are doing it for the disease. So, don't do it.
