Acharya Prashant explains that 'Purushartha' is that which is appropriate for the 'Purusha' (the conscious self). He describes the relationship between Purusha and Prakriti (nature/matter) as the ultimate duality. While people often fall into the traps of either attachment (moha) or aversion (virakti/hatred) toward the world and the body, Purushartha represents a third way: 'Veetrag'. This is not the opposite of attraction, but a state of moving beyond it into a realm of love and holy harmony. It is a state where the two exist together like music, which requires both friction and harmony to exist.
