Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the person is the opposite of the individual, and the emergence of the individual signifies the death of the person, much like waking up signifies the death of a dream. The person represents an unreal, fake, and stupid way of living that resists individuality because individuality is rooted in intelligence. The ego, which constitutes the mind's constant striving and effort to become something, fears its own destruction and thus creates arguments and barriers to prevent one from becoming an individual. It prefers the perceived protection of a cage or slavery over the freedom and vulnerability of the open sky. While individuality brings direct joy, calmness, peace, love, and intelligence, the ego thrives on misery, tension, and the belief that life is suffering or a sacrifice. The ego maintains that happiness is only possible upon reaching future targets, whereas individuality offers immediate peace that the ego perceives as its instant death. Consequently, the ego uses all its power to resist freedom and love to ensure its own survival.
