Acharya Prashant explains that the essence of selfless action is fighting for truth and righteousness rather than personal gain. Using the story of Ravana and Mandodari, he illustrates that even Ravana acknowledged the profound peace found in the form of Shri Rama. Ravana admitted that even a superficial imitation of Shri Rama brought such deep tranquility that deceit became impossible. This highlights why individuals often avoid the truth; if truth comes close, they can no longer pursue their ego-driven desires. One cannot stay close to the truth while simultaneously insisting on their own way. Those who wish to impose their will are forced to keep the truth at a distance. Addressing why Ravana rejected the cure for his condition despite knowing that remembering Shri Rama brings peace, Acharya Prashant notes that Ravana had become a slave to his long-standing habits and ego. Although he knew Shri Rama was his ultimate destiny, he felt he could no longer reach that destination through a direct path of devotion because his actions were too deeply rooted in his identity as Ravana. Consequently, he chose the path of enmity to reach the same end. Both the devotee and the sinner are attracted to the same ultimate reality, but while the devotee approaches through love, the sinner approaches through conflict. Ultimately, both meet the same end because Shri Rama attracts everyone. Acharya Prashant further explains that when truth manifests in the world, it creates a strong polarization where people become either supporters or opponents, but no one can remain indifferent. Both the friend and the foe are moving toward the same truth, though the path of enmity is painful. He emphasizes that while Shri Rama resides in everyone's heart, the conflict arises when the mind and life are dedicated to the ego. Unlike Hanuman, whose heart, mind, and life were all aligned with Shri Rama, most people live divided lives. He concludes by stating that the mind must eventually surrender to the heart and the soul, as the soul is invincible and the outcome of this internal struggle is already fixed in favor of the truth.
