Acharya Prashant explains that persons, as such, are not creative, and the word 'creativity' does not go well with 'persons'. He distinguishes between what is commonly perceived as creation and true creativity. What we often call creation is merely a continuation of past patterns and knowledge. It involves taking existing knowledge, mixing it up, and producing something that appears new but is fundamentally just a new combination of old variables. True creativity, in contrast, is a state in which creation happens without the aid of past knowledge. It is illogical, unreasonable, and so fresh that it arises from nothing, with no background, past, or reason. This genuine creativity comes from an eternal source, which can be referred to as the core, intelligence, or God. It does not originate from the individual's mind but from this untouched core. When something comes from your mind, it is not creativity. Creativity is untouched by the past and does not arise from a mind that seeks security. It is not a product of thinking; one cannot think and be creative. Brainstorming does not lead to creative ideas, as no idea is truly creative. Creativity is not an idea but a spontaneous happening that cannot be organized, planned, directed, or channelized for a purpose or profit. When a motive or a desire for a result is present, creativity becomes impossible. An egoless mind is a creative mind because it is not obsessed with thinking, which serves to protect the ego. A loving, fearless mind that is not worried about results is creative. Everyone is born creative, as it is the mind's natural state. However, we hinder this innate creativity by giving energy to our conditioning and the various impositions placed upon the mind. Creativity happens in a state of complete relaxation and security. It emerges when you surrender, make space for the real creator, and can be in a state of silent realization. A mind that is hassled, worried, or living under pressure and fear cannot be creative.
