Description

Acharya Prashant explains that when humans encounter something new, they often react with rejection, fear, or disappointment. This happens because the mind constantly compares the new with the old. Since the new, by definition, does not match past experiences, the mind rejects it to protect its limited, two-dimensional world. He emphasizes that human knowledge is always incomplete and limited. If our current knowledge were sufficient, we would not experience frustration or fear. True openness to the new requires the humility to admit that what we know is small compared to the vastness of what we do not know. He points out the irony that while everyone seeks a new future and dreams of change, they are terrified when actual change arrives. People often settle for superficial novelties, like new clothes or cars, while avoiding real transformation. Acharya Prashant suggests that the fear of the new is essentially a rejection of life itself, as life is a continuous process of creation and change. Every moment and every breath is inherently new. To live in fear of the new is to live in constant fear of every passing moment. Finally, he encourages the audience to have faith in existence and to remain open to infinite dimensions. He asserts that nothing valuable in life is stale or old; even if words or people seem familiar, the moment shared with them is always fresh. He warns against the desire for rigid consistency, using a humorous anecdote to show that those who refuse to change or acknowledge their growth become stagnant and ridiculous. True living involves welcoming the constant flow of change and not letting the mind's mechanical conditioning block the arrival of the new.
