Description

Acharya Prashant explains that matter is another name for energy; material is energy. Whenever one speaks of energy, it is related to materiality. There is no other energy apart from matter. Matter is a vehicle for energy; it receives, carries, and is both created and destroyed by energy. He provides examples such as the heat energy in a hot ball, the kinetic energy in a thrown ball, the potential energy in a ball on a mountain, and the conversion of matter to energy as described by E=mc². Therefore, the concept of energy is always related to matter. He states that there is no such thing as "spiritual energy" or "spiritual vibrations." The very meaning of spirituality is to seek liberation from the troubles caused by matter and the world. Therefore, spirituality has no connection with energy. The ego, however, loves the word "energy" because it means power, and the ego is always in search of power. When people in the spiritual field talk excessively about energy, it is a game of the ego. Such talk is useless, and one should stay away from it. Acharya Prashant dismisses the concepts of "positive" and "negative" energy. He explains that these terms are used by the desire-driven ego. When the ego's desires are fulfilled, it calls the experience "positive"; when they are not, it's called "negative." A person seeking truth, however, does not think in terms of positive and negative, but in terms of true and false. Moving towards truth is beneficial, and moving away from it is harmful. What people call "vibes" is actually the effect of sensory inputs on one's consciousness, which is governed by pre-existing mental patterns and subconscious instincts. For instance, a person might feel "positive vibes" from a stranger wearing a perfume associated with past good experiences. This is not a spiritual phenomenon but a result of the mind's conditioning. He criticizes so-called gurus who speak on scientific and spiritual matters without any real knowledge, misleading their followers.
