Acharya Prashant explains that oneness is the realization that the central element of everything in the world is the same, despite apparent diversities. He uses the analogy of steel being the common element in both a bridge and a sword, and further points to subatomic particles as the ultimate commonality in all matter. He describes our world as dualistic, where opposites like white and black, or happiness and sadness, cannot exist without each other. The intelligent mind recognizes that these opposites are not two separate entities but are one, as one cannot exist in the absence of the other. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that a wise person sees the non-dual within duality and is therefore not moved by pleasure, pain, ambition, or fear. He notes that while a foolish person seeks permanent happiness or togetherness, such things are impossible because happiness requires sadness to be experienced. Only oneness is permanent, whereas duality is transient and leads to suffering for those who do not perceive the underlying unity.
