Acharya Prashant explains that as a person becomes more awakened, their sensitivity increases, allowing them to perceive the suffering in the world more clearly. While an ordinary person may remain indifferent or numb to the pain around them, a saint or an awakened being feels the distress of others as their own. He cites Kabir Saheb and Shri Ramakrishna to illustrate how the awakened heart is moved by the suffering of all living beings, including animals and the environment. However, he clarifies that this sensitivity does not lead to personal misery. Because an awakened person is established in the Truth or the Divine, they remain a witness to the pain without being consumed by it. Like Lord Shiva who consumes poison without becoming poisonous, a saint can take on the world's pain while remaining fundamentally free and peaceful. He further discusses the nature of true sensitivity, distinguishing it from self-centered grief. Real sensitivity arises when one's identity expands beyond the self and family to include strangers and even other species. Addressing the issue of animal cruelty and cow protection, Acharya Prashant points out the hypocrisy in worshiping the cow while consuming its milk. He argues that the demand for dairy is the root cause of the exploitation and eventual slaughter of cattle. He emphasizes that violence is a state of mind; a mind that is violent toward an animal will inevitably be violent toward humans as well. Finally, he asserts that regardless of one's upbringing or environment, the seed of awakening and divine consciousness remains present in every individual.
