Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the state of one's life serves as the ultimate proof of whether they have forgotten the Truth. He observes that those who have forgotten the Truth tend to cling obsessively to memories, past events, and future anxieties. Conversely, one who has attained the Truth does not feel the need to remember anything else. The speaker emphasizes that the more a person is burdened by memories they cannot forget—such as personal identity, past joys, sorrows, and future security—the further they are from the Truth. True remembrance of the Divine is so vast that it displaces all trivial memories and even dissolves the egoistic mind that holds them. Using the metaphor of a small room filled with thousands of tiny objects, Acharya Prashant describes how the entry of something immense, like the Divine, not only clears out the clutter but also breaks down the walls of the room itself. This signifies liberation from both the disease of memory and the mind that stores it. He clarifies that while a person's suffering may be 'meaningless' in its ultimate value, it is caused by the 'many things' and trivial matters they have chosen to hold onto. When the central 'Hero' or the Divine is excluded from the mind, various troubles and 'villains' in the form of worldly distractions inevitably take over. He concludes by urging that one must remain close to the Divine to avoid being overwhelmed by petty worldly troubles.
