Description

Acharya Prashant explains that non-duality is not a separate entity or a destination to be reached, but rather the state of being at ease with duality. He asserts that non-duality is nothing in itself; what exists is duality. When one seeks non-duality as an escape or a fantasy, duality only tightens its grip. True liberation comes from accepting duality as it is and smiling at it. He warns that most spiritual pursuits are merely attempts by a fearful mind to escape reality into a world of imagination. Non-duality is not the opposite of duality or a flight from the world, but the total and natural acceptance of it. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that one cannot find truth by running away from the world. He describes non-duality as the depth within the experiences of duality. For instance, while laughter and sorrow belong to duality, laughing without inhibition or experiencing sorrow with depth represents non-duality. He critiques the tendency to talk about the soul and immortality without understanding the body and mind. Spirituality is not for those who have lost to life or wish to flee from it; it is about waking up within life and knowing it thoroughly. To reject the world in search of truth is like wanting the juice of a fruit while discarding the fruit itself; without the world, there is no path and no seeker to reach the truth.
