Description

Acharya Prashant explains that God takes responsibility for a devotee's vows, as seen when Shri Krishna facilitated the fulfillment of Arjun's vow to kill Jayadrath. He notes that a true devotee does not need permission from God because, in a state of oneness, the individual's will and God's will are identical. Citing Kabir Saheb, he emphasizes that when the ego is surrendered, God becomes the doer, and the devotee finds rest. Using the analogy of a child and a father, he explains that a surrendered person's desires are naturally aligned with what is right, as they have already chosen the highest Truth. He further discusses the human tendency to subtly oppose Truth by masking lies as Truth. He argues that while most people secretly oppose God while pretending to be devotees, an open and honest opposition to Truth can actually lead to liberation by exposing one's inner hypocrisy. He points out that even Arjun showed resistance, requiring eighteen chapters of guidance. Ultimately, he concludes that since everything originates from the Divine, God eventually resolves the complications of His devotees out of compassion.
