Acharya Prashant addresses a questioner's hesitation to speak in front of people he considers 'big'. He states that this issue has less to do with childhood and more to do with the questioner's value system. When you consider someone 'big', a feeling arises that if this person says something negative about you, it will be a proven fact, and you won't be able to refute it. This is because the speaker is 'big'. This is why you get stuck, fearing that a danger has arisen. In front of someone you consider 'big', you need to introduce yourself or say something, and there is a danger. If he rebukes you or says you are a fool, then because he is 'big', it will be certified that you are a fool. You get scared. The speaker explains that this problem is about values. Who have you given so much value to that you have considered them 'big'? The whole issue is about values. You have given someone so much value that you consider them 'big', and when you consider someone 'big', you have to bow before them. Why do you consider these worldly people 'big'? Don't consider them 'big', and you won't have to bow before them. Spirituality exists so that you don't have to bow before the world, so you don't have to live like a beggar. The identity of a spiritual person is that they cannot bow down. You bow down at every step. The floors in private and government offices are clean because so many subordinate employees are constantly licking them. Acharya Prashant concludes by saying that the problem is not psychological but one of a flawed value system. You are a devotee of self-interest, and whoever can fulfill your self-interest, even slightly, becomes your god. There is no place left for Shri Krishna. He advises to hold onto one fear: the fear of being so small that you cannot attain the truly great. If you embrace this one fear in life, all other fears will vanish. Fear the one who is truly great, and fear that you might remain distant from them. If you live in this fear, you will become completely fearless in front of the world.
