Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the question of why truth is so scared. He explains that truth is scared because it has made a mistake, a blunder. He uses the analogy of a stained cloth, questioning how one can hide the stain. He further elaborates with the analogy of poison, stating that pure poison is rarely used to kill someone because its black, burning, bitter, and foul-smelling nature is too obvious. A lie is like pure poison; it is so heinous and repulsive that it would be immediately rejected. Therefore, a pure lie is not very harmful because its ugly and reprehensible form is easily recognizable. The real danger, he explains, lies in adulteration. Just as a drop of poison becomes fatal when mixed with desirable things like milk or sherbet, a lie becomes powerful when mixed with truth. A lie cannot stand on its own; it needs the name of truth to be accepted. Conversely, and more dangerously, when truth is mixed with even a little bit of falsehood, it becomes the most lethal poison. If truth is reduced from 100% to 99% purity, it becomes extremely fatal because people trust it, believing it to be sherbet, and unknowingly consume the poison within. This is a betrayal of trust. This dynamic creates a difficult situation for truth. Truth must be 100% pure. If a truth-seeker allows even 1% impurity, they commit a great crime, becoming fatal to the world and suffering from guilt. On the other hand, the path of the liar is easy. They are already impure and only need to put on a label of purity to get their work done. Truth is scared because it has allowed a little mixture. When truth takes a little lie, it becomes poisonous. When a lie takes a little truth, the lie becomes powerful. The responsibility falls on the one who wants to live a clean life to be 100% truthful, as even 99% truth is the most dangerous poison in the world.
