Description

Acharya Prashant explains that no one can reveal anything to an individual that does not already lie half-asleep within their own knowledge. He asserts that people are already perfect and healthy, and they already possess the knowledge that even the best teachers might impart. The real wonder is not human ignorance, but rather the pretense of ignorance. He compares himself to a child who simply shouts out that the king is naked, noting that while everyone already knows the truth, they have their own reasons for remaining silent or acting as if they do not know. He suggests that the difference between himself and others is not a difference in knowledge, but a difference in the willingness to act as if one is unconscious or poor. Acharya Prashant further discusses why people are often scared to meet or listen to him. He argues that their fear is justified because they already know what he will say. Those who stubbornly avoid him actually vouch for his authenticity because they recognize something real that they wish to avoid to protect their own pretenses. He describes the true teacher as being absolutely predictable, much like the sun which only provides light. People block out the sun because they are certain it will bring brightness, just as they avoid scriptures because they recognize their power. He concludes by stating that it remains a great wonder why people continue to live as if they do not know the truth when, in reality, they do.
